President of Turkmenistan holds talks with Chairman of China in Astana

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the second Central Asia-China summit, held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The parties discussed key areas of bilateral and interregional cooperation, the Neutral Turkmenistan online newspaper reported.

During the talks, the interlocutors noted the constructive nature of the existing mechanism of multilateral dialogue between the countries of the region and China. Key areas of bilateral and interregional cooperation were touched upon, including trade and economic ties, energy, transport and communications projects, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Chinese President Xi Jinping highly appreciated the established level of cooperation between the two countries. Speaking about the Turkmen-Chinese partnership, the interlocutors emphasized its strategic and long-term nature, its focus on further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, which is facilitated by the high level of trust and friendly relations between the leaders of Turkmenistan and China.
