During a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the second Central Asia-China summit in Astana, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that the two countries' positions coincide on key issues on the global and regional agenda.

"For Turkmenistan, China is a reliable and time-tested partner. The positions of both countries coincide on key issues of the global and regional agenda. The principles of friendship, equality and mutual respect, a solid historical foundation, common spiritual and moral values are at the core of interstate relations," the State News Agency of Turkmenistan quotes President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as saying.

As was emphasized, on the world stage, Turkmenistan and China are joining forces for peace and stability, and adherence to the norms of the Charter of the United Nations.

"Turkmenistan highly appreciates China's support for the neutral status and initiatives of our country in the sphere of regional security, energy and transport cooperation, and ecology. In turn, Turkmenistan resolutely supports China's initiatives," the head of state emphasized.
