The French Language Olympiad determined the best among schoolchildren

The Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi hosted an Olympiad in French among students of grades IX–XI of secondary schools in Turkmenistan.

The Olympics took place in two stages. As the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports, during the first stage, in an online format, young experts wrote essays on the theme of this year’s motto “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi.” In their creative works, students revealed the role played by the great classical poet Magtymguly Fragi in the life of the Turkmen people, the formation of their moral values. The jury of the Olympiad determined the authors of the 15 best essays. They became participants in the final round, which took place directly in TNIMYA.

During the second stage of the competition, French speaking, writing and reading skills were assessed. Following the results of the competition, the names of the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad were announced.

The highest award - the Grand Prix - was awarded to Leila Dzhumageldieva, a tenth-grader from specialized school No. 43 named after Hero Atamurat Niyazov in Ashgabat. The first place winner was Ramina Hasanova, a 9th grade student at secondary specialized school No. 27 in Ashgabat. The second and third prizes were shared by students of specialized schools No. 4 of the city of Ashgabat and No. 10 of the Dashoguz velayat - Guvanch Niyazov and Leili Orazkulyeva, respectively.

The winners and runners-up of the Olympiad were awarded diplomas from the country's Higher Language School, and their teacher-mentors were awarded corresponding certificates.
